  1. I'm only leaving a comment here because the post regarding Janelle and Bad Boy was removed and theres nowhere else to put it.

As a Janelle fan, and someone who has purchased her album, and someone who follows this blog pretty closely, I was really disappointed that we had to find out about that 'partnership' from other sources.

WAS signs a huge deal and we hear absolutely nothing from you guys?? Not even after the fact. Jane and the crew were posting from New York like it was a routine sight seeing trip or something.

I'm not implying that we need detailed reports of every nook and cranny of what happened, but it at lest could have been acknowledged. The beauty of places like these are that the artists and the fans can connect directly without the need for third parties to inject themselves into the situation.

  2. I absolutely agree. I feel a sense of "betrayl" for lack of better words. I know that is selfish of me to be so attached and not want to share you with the masses but like I said before I feel a little betrayed. JM signed with Bad Boy. Fine. Disappointed by why she would make such a decision. But she's smart I trust she knows what she is doing. But to hear it from random people. Is might I say... hurtful.

There are people who have been loyal followers of JM when people would ask why, we would say shut up and dance. Now...

    who knows.

  3. Hello. This is Nate. I'm really sorry to even have to address this issue like this but it's not your fault that it was even brought up.

As you two and others who follow The WAS probably know, we take pride in handling our business responsibly. That means making sure that people have official information availabe to them in a timely manner but also making sure that we respect all parties involved by not speaking out of turn.

In this particular instance someone spoke out of turn and did not speak on behalf of the Wondaland Arts Society.

Janelle Monáe is a leader and a visionary in her own right and does not need someone to disclose her business affairs for her. So I won't overstep my boundaries by speaking on her behalf right now.

Please understand that sometimes these processes take time and that the first people that will know the official details and truth will be the early adopters and supporters such as yourselves. Thank you and please stand by for more official information from Janelle Monáe. Ignore any hearsay in the meantime.

    Oh yeah, and keep dancing.

    Nate.
